Optimal health is multifactorial and exceptionally complex. Our health and well-being is dependent on the relationship between our genetic make-up, daily exposure to toxins, environmental allergens, emotional and physical stressors, gut health, and our nutritional status. My goal is to incorporate my traditional western medical training in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a more integrative approach. Often times in medicine, we treat symptoms rather than trying to find the root causes of disease states. In doing so, we as physicians do not always address the underlying issues and driving forces for disease states. In many cases, it is not possible to completely determine the reason for a disease state. However, by altering factors such as diet, environmental exposures, gut health, and physical activity, it is possible to modify the severity of disease expression.
